MB's Treasurista: March Blog Hop

Sunday, March 18, 2012

Hi Guys!  I'm happy to share with you my DT project for this month's blog hop.  If you've left Deb's page and made it to me, you're on track! I've made a sign to display in my house to go along with my other spring decor.  I started out with a 12x12 piece of chipboard and adhered some MME Quite Contrary paper to it.  This is an old collection from last year.  Then, I used some thinkers to spell out my springtime sentiment.

All of the decorative elements are exclusively from MB's Treasurista with the exception of the rosette trim.  I'll leave a shopping list below.

I love how Misty's 4mm trim makes the path that the butterfly traveled.  Super cute!

Shopping List for MB's Treasurista:

Pink floral stretch lace
Cream drapery trim
2" organza butterfly in apple green
Green and pearl acrylic spray
Pearl trim 4mm in Ivory

Sneak Peek Sunday Project

Sunday, February 26, 2012

Hi Guys!  In order to introduce you to some of the new products at MBs Treasurista, I made this adorable hanging sign for my sister-in-law.  Ssshhh...I told her Reagan made it for her. ;-)  When I first opened my DT package, the new colors of items Misty got for the store just screamed Springtime.  So, the first paper collection that came to mind was Graphic 45 "Once Upon a Springtime."  This was used for the base of my project.

On the bottom, where it says "Aunt" I used some of the white organza rose trim and sprayed it using some Lindy Stamp Gang product.

I just loved the way MB's Treasurista's new Picot Gimp trim adds a detail behind the curled paper.  So delicate and feminine! These days, I can't go without adding a wheat leaf to all of my altered projects.  They just add so much dimension and color.

Check out the link to Misty's store and blog below.  I will also add a list of the products used on this particular project.

Products Used:

Picot Gimp trim in beige and cream
Wheat sprays in salmon and apple green
White organza rose trim
Cream round bead sprays
Small flower bead trim in ivory

MB's Treasurista St. Patty's Blog Hop

Sunday, February 19, 2012

Hi Guys,

You made it to my page!  For my St. Patty's day project, I made a chalk board that will hang in my kitchen to post what St. Patty's beer selections we will be having for our gathering.  This way our guests can refer to it before heading to the cooler!  I just love the way Misty's products added to the project.

I started with a chalk board from the craft section at Michaels.  It was only $1.99!! Then, I added some of MB's Treasurista silver mesh bling to the bottom.  I didn't want to over embellish the chalk board, so I focused most of my decorating to one side, leaving plenty of room to write.

I am in love with these new sprays Misty just got in!

Those acrylic flowers in sour apple are a gorgeous color and added a new element to my project.

MB's Treasurista Products Used:

24 row silver mesh bling
1" organza butterfly in apple green
Green pearl and acrylic spray with 6 branches
Ruffled satin trim in silver (edges around project)
Acrylic flowers in apple green
4mm Black pearl trim

Hope you enjoyed my project!  Thanks for stopping by.

Altered Paper Mache Heart Box for MB's Treasurista

Sunday, February 5, 2012

Good Morning Guys!  I just wanted to share another design team project for MB's Treasurista.  I had to make a heart box to ship some goodies to friend in another state.  I kept the design real simple because i didn't want it to get messed up during travel.  Here's what I came up with.

I used the Prima Romantique paper on both the top and inside of the lid.  I've really enjoyed making flowers out of Misty's trims and laces.  This particular flower was made using her burgundy lace.  I love the dimension it added to the box.

The side were dry brushed using a stipling brush and some cream and sky blue paint.  Then, I edged the sides of the box with some of her "love lace."

I finished of the inside of the lid; however I kept the inside of the box pretty simple so there was room for my friend's goodies.  Here is a list of products I used below.

MB's Treasurista Products:

2" organza butterfly in cream
Ruffled satin trim in lt blue
Burgundy Rose scalloped lace
Silver mesh bling
White and blue love lace

See you soon!!

Hi Guys!  I just wanted to share my project for MB's Treasurista's creative challenge.  We were to make a love and romance themed project without using red or pink.  I really had fun making this project because it got your creative juices flowing.  I made this hanging sign.  The base of this sign uses the bo bunny etc designer paper and the rest are yummy goodies from MB's Treasurista.  I chose to use cream, brown, and blue as my color palette.

I used two different trims to edge each of the hearts in and seam binding to attach the banner pieces together.

I just love Misty's new addition to the store of these gorgeous wheat leaves!  And the colors she has matched my project color scheme perfectly.

The burlap added a real organic feel and some dimension to the banner.  I always add a butterfly to almost any project these days!

Below is a complete list of the products used and the links to MB's Treasurista store and facebook fan page.  For more details on how I made this project, check out the YT video on the scrapology channel.

MB Treasurista Blog Hop

Sunday, January 22, 2012

So, you have made it to my blog!  If you've just left Deb's blog, then you're right on track.  I'm so excited to share with you this awesome Valentine's Day sign I made for my front door using a ton of MB Treasurista goodies. I just love the way it turned out! I started with $1 wood plaque that I purchased at our local craft store.  Then, I painted it black using some craft paint.  Once that dried, I lined the back using some vintage white drip lace.  Then, I took some Echo Park paper and distressed the edges.  I used MB Treasurista mesh bling to create a nice frame.

I created a bouquet of flowers using some of her acrylic's.  Then, I dyed the snow white seam binding using some spray.  The large black flower was made using satin ruffle trim.  The center of the flower is a large pink acrylic flower.  I love the way it turned out!

I just adore these organza butterflies. They add dimension to any project.

On the bottom to add that final touch, I trimmed the bottom of the designer paper with the white lace with pink pleated trim.   It hangs on the door using the 4mm black pearl trim. I am adding a list of the great products used from MB Treasurista's store.

White lace with light pink pleated trim
Vintage white drip lace
Black ruffled satin
Silver Mesh bling
Mini clear and pink acrylic flowers
Large pink acrylic flower
Large black organza butterfly
4mm black pearl trim

MB Treasurista Design Team Project

Sunday, January 15, 2012

Hi Everyone.  I just got the new Anya Garland stamps and there were calling my name.  What better products to use with these stamps than the gorgeous trims and laces from MB Treasurista!  I made to different Valentine themed cards and just love the way they came out.

I paper pieced Miss Anya and colored her skin and hair using my copic markers.

I made this flower using the ruffled satin organza trim from MB Treasurista.  It's very thick and good quality so it is the perfect material to make embellishments out of.

This is what the final product looks like.

MB Treasurista Products Used:
Ruffled satin ribbon in Burgundy
1" organza butterfly in black
4mm Black pearl trim
Burgundy rose scalloped lace
Ivory scalloped lace

The next card uses a more pastel palette.  I again show you another use for the ruffled trims.  Here you can see I used it around my image to create a stunning frame.

Here is a closer look...

I used one of the gorgeous poinsettia sprays.  they do not necessarily have to be used on only Christmas projects.

MB Treasurista products used:

1" organza butterfly in blue
White with pink scallop lace
Poinsettia spray
Ruffled satin on organza in pink

MB Treasurista Design Team Project: Valentine Candy Box

Tuesday, January 10, 2012

Hi everyone.  So, it's yet another holiday where we eat way too many sweets and goodies.  Here is a project where you can make your own candy boxes and put a condensed amount of chocolates in it from one normal candy container.  Each altered candy container can hold up to ten chocolates.  The ones you buy in the store hold up to thirty.  So, with one store bought box, you can fill three handmade boxes and give a homemade gift as well.  Here are some pics of how mine turned out.  I will list the products used from Misty's store as well.

The blue fan below was made by staining white seam binding with lindy stamp gang sprays and then using a glue gun to help keep its shape.

The clear acrylic flowers were died green using alcohol inks.  I also made a heart stencil and cut the silver mesh into that shape.  Then, I inked it with alcohol inks as well to get that pinkish tone.

This is what the inside of the box looks like.

Products Used:
Small Acrylic flowers: pink and white
Large Acrylic flowers: pink
Vinatge cream rosette trim with pink flowers
Vintage Picket fence lace
Silver mesh bling
Snow white seam binding
1 inch organza butterflies in ivory
Lace scallop with pink trim

Here is a youtube video going into greater detail
