12x12 Layout: Girl's Paperie On Holiday

Monday, January 3, 2011

Before I get into sharing a quick project, can I just say that I am SUPER frustrated with my Michaels!!!  They still don't have their Martha Stewart Valentines Day stuff out and they don't carry the awesome Recollections flowers and embellies.  REALLY ANNOYING...anywho now that I got that off my chest, let's move into a LO using a pic from my time in Paris.

I like to stay busy during the week, but tend to stay away from larger projects.  I made this 12x12 LO using kraft paper as a base.  I tried some new techniques (for me anyway) and had fun.  I used some masking techniques using Tim Holtz products and Glimmer Mist in three different colors.  I also finally got to try out some Lindy Stamp Gang products.  They work really well and are absolutely gorgeous!!  Then, I used a script stamp and a stamp-a-majig to make a pattern on one side of the LO.

Up top, I used a hambly's rub-on and framed it with some buttons.  It turned out adorable.  I also rubbed a little Weathered Wood distress ink on the Thickers so they wouldn't be such a vibrant pink.  The entire LO is sparkly from the mists. The pics don't do it justice!

I had never worked with the Pink Paislee Artisan Elements before and they are really versatile.  I sprayed them with Glimmer Mist and then in the detailed parts I used an aqua brush and some LSG mica powders to paint it a little more vibrant of a color.

Well, I hope every one's 2011 is starting off good and productive!  Talk to you soon.  --Nicole
